Giving Back

When Seymour Zises and Andrea Tessler founded Family Management over twenty years ago, they were already committed to fostering a strong tradition of charitable giving as a key part of business culture. We are proud of our long history of supporting numerous charities through direct funding along with volunteer service.
While it is our personal ethic that “giving back” is a worthy and enriching part of life, this commitment also helps us better serve those clients with similar aims. We have long counseled clients on planning their own charitable giving, often working with independent lawyers and tax professionals in addressing the best structures and approaches to yield maximum benefit to recipients, while also enabling clients to maintain sufficient control and flexibility to ensure the long-term viability of continued giving.
Advising clients on ways to find the most meaning in their own charitable endeavors has proven to be one of the most personally satisfying aspects of our professional careers we always welcome the invitation to discuss new opportunities.
Over the past decade, our firm and its principals have contributed more than $3 million to over one hundred not-for-profit organizations supporting healthcare, community revitalization, education, children’s services, and cultural development. We are pleased to have been able to give so much, to beneficiaries such as:
- Alzheimer’s Association
- Bronfman Center at NYU
- Citymeals-on-Wheels
- Crohn’s & Colitis Foundation of America
- Kids in Distressed Situations
- Lighthouse International
- New York City Police Foundation
- New York University
- Rainforest Alliance
- Resources for Children with Special Needs
- Stand Up To Cancer
- UJA-Federation of New York
